Blog urges Umno to break away from Bersatu

Every single movement of the Umno and its MPs is being watched eagerly by the people in particular.

The social media networks in Malaysia is filled with speculations. Will Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin call for snap polls? Or will Umno finally decide to drop Muhyiddin for Anwar?

Or is there pressure from a deep state against Umno not to break the coalition in power?

These are some of the crucial questions being asked on Facebook, Twitter and in WhatsApp groups.

Nevertheless, a blogger says if a referendum is held, Umno MPs would dump Bersatu in the next general elections.

The blog says less than 10% of the Umno would agree to work with Bersatu in a snap poll.

SNAP POLLS?

There is overwhelming disapproval in Umno for a seat-sharing deal with Bersatu in the next GE.

Though the party is leading the coalition government with Muhyiddin Yassin as PM, it depends on Umno for the next GE.

The party is now between snap polls or support for Anwar Ibrahim. There is no doubt many of its MPs are now backing Anwar as the next PM.

The blog, Shahbudin, says UMNO’s decision not to join PN is the right action but wanting to stay with Bersatu until the next GE, is probably not the right decision.

It also says the Umno has to decide.

“UMNO should not delay any longer and must leave the PN government quickly, regardless of whether by supporting Anwar Ibrahim to form a new government or so that re-election can be held immediately.”

The blogger says retracting support for Muhyiddin is an option that should not be delayed.

It says the future of Umno is brighter with Bersatu, a party that has almost no future without Umno.

It ends in with the note: Choose which one – do you want UMNO to survive or let Bersatu “kill” UMNO?
