Electric vehicles getting popularity in the UAE

Khaleej Times today says since the launch of Tesla’s showroom in Dubai in 2017, sales of electric vehicles is rising.

Motorists are now saying that they are considering buying one as their second vehicle.

Digital transformation consultancy, Publicis Sapient says in a research the trend towards more environmentally friendly and fuel-efficient vehicles is increasing.

However, the industry us still hit with concerns about battery range and price.

These will slow the widespread adoption of EVs.

The government has also continued to encourage people to buy EVs over traditional cars.

82 per cent of UAE respondents of a survey are considering an EV as their next vehicle.

90 per cent are considering a hybrid.

There is an array of market EV vehicles in the UAE.

On top of that, the UAE is the second-highest ratio of public charging stations per EVs in the world.
