The State Assembly member for N31 Subang Jaya since 2008, and Speaker of Selangor State Legislative Assembly in the state of Selangor, Hannah Yeoh chided Malaysian PM Najib Razak’s cabinet:
On the Indonesian Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati being crowned ‘Best Minister in the World’, the Democratic Action Party member said:
“This is pretty amazing. What a feat! Anyone from Najib’s cabinet won any similar awards? I mean reputable awards,” she asked on her Facebook page.
Yeoh, who has more than 187,000 Facebook followers, is known for her candid posts that would rile her opponents but would get her followers and supporters looking for more.
In 2013, Yeoh won the Subang Jaya state assembly seat with more than 40,000 votes, or 76.65% beating the Barisan Nasional’s candidate Gan Meng Foo who collected only 23.35% of votes. She won the seat in 2008 with +23,000 or 70% of votes.
The lecturer from a public university, claimed that Yeoh was attempting to “coax, influence and instigate” non-Christians to convert through her book.
What ticked the good lecturer was that, according to his perspective, Yeoh “openly admitted” in her book about how her involvement in politics was supported by Christians and how she used her position to preach about Christianity.
His comments drew flak on social media and most of the online portals in the country sided with Yeoh while dismissing the lecturer’s claims as flimsy and nonsensical.
