Not the first time ballot papers found in the trash!

There is a lot of talk and comments on ballot papers found in the trash bin. Some journalists are saying this is without precedent.

The Labour Party leaders are also saying it is without precedent and it is a grievous matter.

But if you followed elections in Mauritius since 1983 when the MSM won its first elections, you will know better.

From 1983 onwards, there were accusations of vote-rigging in Mauritius.

For the 1991 elections, the PTR and the PMSD leaders, Navin Ramgoolam and Gaetan Duval spoke of vote-rigging.

In a presser at Rue Desforges, the Coq et La Clef alliance leader was sitting next to Gaetan Duval.

Duval was not in his best of mood. He was beaten but Ramgoolam was elected. Navin Ramgoolam was one of the three PTR members elected in that year.

None from the PMSD, including Duval indeed, were elected.

But Duval said during the presser after the polls he had some evidence of vote-rigging.

Rumours floated that they (PMSD) found ballot papers from Mauritius in Rodrigues.

If I may recall, there were talks that at least a bunch of ballot papers from a voting centre in Mauritius was found in a trash bin in Rodrigues Island.

The papers showed the votes were for the PTR and for the PMSD.

This was not really reported in the newspapers, the MSM-MMM had won a massive 57-3 victory which I predicted.

But to say this is the first time in Mauritius or it is unprecedented that ballot boxes are found in trash bins etc is not true.

MSMs WAYS?

Now that we are in 2019 and there is another case of ballot papers found floating in public, we can ask some serious questions.

The first is why is it that such incidence happens when the MSM is organising the elections?

There were such accusations in 1987, 1991 and now in 2019!

Is it possible the MSM has mastered the art of letting ballot papers marked with votes for their opponents to fly in the public arena?

The public must take these into account because as far as I can recall, I never heard of such accusations when elections were organised while PTR is in power.
