Three Mistakes Made With Coronavirus Not to Make With Omicron

Three Mistakes Made With Coronavirus Not to Make With Omicron

When news of the virus broke out in 2019, not many people believed it will change their lives forever but now Omicron is coming to unfix everything!

The announcement of COVID-19 in late 2019 took the world completely by surprise, but the world ignored the magnitude of the pandemic. Many people laughed at the prospect of a global quarantine.

Most countries made the mistake of not closing their borders to stop the virus from spreading. There have been calls for governments to act. However, authorities from the United States to India, Malaysia, and Brazil were adamant.

That was the most common blunder. America used to be crazier. They believed the virus was fake news or that it would never enter their country because China was taking precautions to prevent its spread.

The second error was that the entire world listened to the World Health Organization. WHO erred by rejecting the idea of a global pandemic and the need for global lockdowns in 2020?

It even stated that the world should not panic at any point while the virus was spreading like wildfire. Yes, no one knew what was going on, but the consequences of the no-border closures because of tourism cash flow cost us a lot!

Didn’t WHO and the entire governments of the world priorities money?

WHO had a clear picture of the situation in China, but it led them to believe that China will contain the virus easily.

We believe that WHO has finally done the right thing by declaring the Omicron a clear and imminent threat to the world.

WHO warns that the Covid omicron variant poses a ’very high’ global risk and is likely to spread.

It warned on Monday that outbreaks of Covid infections caused by the variant in question could have “severe consequences” in some areas.

Countries are promising lockdowns or a reduction in their openness to foreign visitors. This is bad news for big money, but it will save lives and protect people while big money can go back and lick their wounds.

For us, the small people in this world, it’s business as usual, complete with restrictions, a lack of means to find the money for survival, and disruptions that will make things even more difficult.

Many people believed in conspiracy theories after the WHO refused to declare a global pandemic in January, although a few countries were reporting infections. With the deterioration of the situation, these theories grew quickly.

Who benefited from these outrageous claims? Big Pharma and political figures with clout.

Most countries heeded WHO’s advice, which led us to where we are today.

The biggest blunder, however, is the virus’s naming or renaming. Initially, it was referred to as SAR or a new but more virulent variant of the SAR that wreaked havoc on the world in 2002.

It alarmed people when they discovered it was another SAR virus at the start of the outbreak. Because people still remembered the first global outbreak of SARS.

The virus’s name was later changed to Coronavirus by WHO. As a result, many people believed that this virus was not as dangerous as the SAR.

Instead of taking precautions, they relaxed, and because it was not SAR, it would be contained.

OMICRON

The world and the WHO cannot recover from these fatal errors. With the rise of the SAR-Coronavirus Omicron variant, they can take precautions.

“BACK IN 2019, it took a month for the warning about a new respiratory disease in Wuhan to go up, and another month for America to suspend flights from China,” writes Time magazine.

The world is now praising South Africa for acting quickly to declare the discovery of the Omicron variant, calling their scientists’ work admirable.

The world now knows, thanks to South African scientists, that the Omicron is a genuine threat.

The Economist says Omicron’s discovery using sparse data means that the true nature of this virus will remain unknown unless there are further researches.

The publication says the accurate test of pandemic preparedness will be how wisely the world uses the time it has won in the detection of the new variant.
