Chanel Customer Now COMPLAINING RM5,000 Ballerina Flats DISINTEGRATING
This is not the first and most likely will not be the last alleged complaint towards Chanel, the French luxury brand. It appears that an Indonesian woman purchased a pair of their iconic ballerina flats only to find out they’re disintegrating just after a few uses.

This is not the first and most likely will not be the last alleged complaint towards Chanel, the French luxury brand. It appears that an Indonesian woman purchased a pair of their iconic ballerina flats only to find out they’re disintegrating just after a few uses.
The woman then compared the pair to an older version that she bought 10 years ago, which is still rock solid. She then alleges that the leather that the brand is using now might possibly be pu-leather. Chanel has since increased the prices of their flats but the TikToker alleges that the quality has declined severely.
@cath_halim The fall of the quality of Chanel..? 🥺😭🥲 Makes me so sad tbh

Furthermore, the comments in her video states that the quality of their leather goods has declined as well. This has been a common topic regarding the luxury brand, and unfortunately, they are not alone when it comes to the alleged quality decline as other brands have too been experiencing this.
According to LuxeFront, Chanel’s leather quality issues vary seasonally, affecting specific collections or production batches. Common problems include dull caviar leather, peeling, and imperfections. Stitching quality and alignment matter, especially for Chanel Classic Flaps.
Misalignment, once a sign of counterfeits, now occurs even in boutique-bought bags. Hardware issues involve gold-toned hardware discoloration over time, impacting newer bags more than vintage ones.
However, the quality decline in fashion is reflected towards all price points. Recently, a YouTuber made a video regarding the decline of quality among accessible brands. These brands are allegedly doing this in order to maintain a lower price point, hence the reduction in price.
But, when it comes to luxury brands, they should have little to no excuse for their alleged quality decline as they have increased their prices immensely in the last few years.
