Cop found murdered with gunshot to head in Sibu - The Star Online

SIBU: A policeman was found dead with gunshot wounds on the right of his head right in a house on Lorong 9, Permai near here.

The deceased has been identified as Konstabel Norhalim Tumiran, 25, from Pahang.

Sibu OCPD Asst Comm Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said they received a report on the incident around 7pm.

“We were informed that a policeman was found dead with gunshot wounds on the upper right ear and was still sitting on the sofa of the rented house,” he said at the scene.

“The deceased had just started working six weeks ago for the motorcycle patrol unit (URB) at the Sibu crime prevention and community safety department (JPJKK),” he said.

ACP Stanley said the rented house was occupied by five of the deceased’s friends and the deceased was staying at the Sibu police quarters.

“The deceased was at the rented house to play computer games before breaking fast,” he said.

The deceased leaves behind a wife and a one-year-old child.

ACP Stanley said that they are investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
