Covid-19: Record number of recoveries with 8334 discharged, cases down to 5793 - The Star Online

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded 5,793 new cases, bringing the nation’s cumulative total to 652,204.

In a tweet on Saturday (June 12), the Health Ministry said of the figure, 5,787 were local infections while six were imported cases.

Seventy six people succumbed to Covid-19, bringing the country’s death toll to 3,844.

It also said there were 8,334 recoveries for a total of 572,113 to date.

This is the highest number of recoveries recorded in a single day so far.

The number of active cases is now 76,247.

Of this number 914 are in intensive care units (ICU), with 459 requiring ventilator support.

It also said Selangor was the state with the most cases 1,582, followed by Negri Sembilan (618), Sarawak (569), Kuala Lumpur (559), Johor (504) and Sabah (378).
