Former Liverpool star Dejan Lovren sends advice to Man City after Champions League defeat - Liverpool Echo
Former Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has sent some ‘advice’ to Manchester City after their Champions League defeat.
Man City lost the European showpiece 1-0 to Chelsea on Saturday night in Porto’s Estadio do Dragao, with Kai Havertz bagging the only goal of the contest.
It was the first time that Man City had reached the Champions League final in their history, after they saw off Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-final earlier this month.
Lovren knows all too well what it’s like to lose the Champions League final, after Liverpool suffered a 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in Kiev three years ago.

Shortly after the final whistle in Portugal, Lovren took to Twitter to congratulate Chelsea and also send a message to Man City.
Lovren’s tweet included the Croatian players who have won the Champions League in each of the last nine seasons, including himself in 2019.
Mateo Kovacic was his compatriot who was part of the Chelsea squad to win the trophy this year, along with the likes of Luka Modric, Mario Mandzukic, Ivan Perisic and Ivan Rakitic.
Lovren then went on to say: “City should buy some Croatian player.”
The former Liverpool centre-back finished the message by saying: “Congratulations Chelsea!”
