Fortinet Expanded Presence in Malaysia With Business Growth
KUALA LUMPUR 7 JUNE 2022, MALAYSIA – Fortinet, a global leader in broad, integrated, and automated cybersecurity solutions, announced today that it is increasing its investment and expanding its presence in Malaysia.
It says this will bolster its commitment to key verticals with capacity and capabilities to better serve the public sector, telecommunications, financial services, enterprise, and commercial markets.
The company is steadily expanding the breadth and depth of its channel ecosystem, deepening relationships with a renewed focus on building and expanding partnerships committed to capturing new markets.
Fortinet partners are critical to the company’s larger growth strategies, serving as extended arms in the deployment of Fortinet technologies and solutions to help businesses and organisations secure networks, users, and data from constantly evolving cyber threats.
Fortinet Malaysia
Dickson Woo, Country Manager of Fortinet Malaysia, stated at the new Fortinet office opening ceremony that the pace of digital transformation for organisations in Malaysia and the region necessitates proportional or even greater developments in security. Cyber threats are constantly evolving in terms of sophistication and frequency.
“In addition to a focus on innovation, Fortinet believes that only by growing and reskilling our talent pool can we go beyond meeting the expectations of our customers, and also enable the support of new customers from critical industries leveraging technology to grow.”
Fortinet Malaysia will continue to invest in talent recruitment across all core functions, including sales and marketing, information security analysts, application security engineers, and compliance managers, to support the growing Systems Engineering, Technical Assistance, and FortiGuard Labs teams in Malaysia.
Customer Briefing Centre
In addition to expanding the specialist teams, the new office will house a state-of-the-art Fortinet Customer Briefing Centre (CBC) in the new two-storey office.
The Fortinet Customer Briefing Centre will showcase the latest suite of Fortinet solutions and technology while immersing customers in the next-generation cyber security applications, including service, pre-sales and application support.
In addition, as part of their new office plans, Fortinet will be building dedicated training spaces for upskilling and reskilling workers and potential cybersecurity professionals to address the cyber talent shortage in the country.
Strengthening Cybersecurity
According to the Malaysia Cyber Security Strategy 2020-2024 plan by National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA), a key pillar of focus was enhancing national cybersecurity by continuously improving skillsets and expertise to address the dearth of cyber talent.
As a leader in the industry, Fortinet has pledged to train one million people globally over the next five years to close the cybersecurity skills gap. The company has been doing so through its Training Advancement Agenda (TAA) initiatives and Fortinet Training Institute programmes.
The company has also committed resources to local educational institutions such as Multimedia University to build Malaysia’s pool of cyber talent. The company has been providing training and certifications, career growth resources and hiring opportunities to make a career in cybersecurity attainable for all.
Fortinet will move their operations from Menara Keck Seng to two stories of office space at Equatorial Plaza. The new office with contemporary designs is built today for the future – more than just an office – it is a cosy home for Fortinet employees, with collaboration and innovation at the core of the workspaces design. Its look and feel surely give all guests a warm welcome at the first sight.
