What does Gurib-Fakim know that we don’t know?

Resigning president Ameenah Gurib-Fakim says she will reveal some juicy information at the press conference.

This is due to happen after she leaves the state house.

However, there are multiple speculations circulating about her intent and motives.

People are asking whether she knows more than the political power can chew?

Otherwise, she is keeping the people of the country on a shoe-string after attempting a failed coup – legally speaking – last Friday.

Another question is whether she was duped…

If so, it would be clear it was not her intent to create a constitutional crisis.

The answer for the first question is as follows:

We heard that many of those close to the President and to some political leaders are on the radar.

How tainted are they?

Rumours are rife that some political figures in the country were bribed.

People on the streets are saying they are close to the Angolan investor.

is the PEI foundation behind the car deals? The NGO is numb with answers.

It is no secret that people in the political arena are asking for a commission of inquiry to solve the problem.

In the minds of the people, the political figures who obtained the facilities should stand up.

If they are really working for the people, they should give up these freebies. Or quit.

That is what the Mauritians are saying in their majority.

But there is also a fringe of the people who believe that there is no evidence of such crimes.

While others are saying it is not a crime at all to use a credit card from an NGO.

Perhaps the events that unfolded on Friday has the meaning ‘Mauritius is already past the questioning of who is guilty or not’?

Nevertheless, the onus is on the President to reveal what she knows, whatever the consequences.

The hasty resignation of Gurib-Fakim on Saturday signals her possible innocence.

But now, it raises another question. Who are the plotters?

The idea of the inquest by Gurib-Fakim comes from her advisors.

The people have a clear idea who these people are.

That will be another story for another day.
