Ismail Sabri: 332 arrested for SOP violations on Friday (May 7) - The Star Online

PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested 332 individuals for various SOPs violations on Friday (May 7).

Among the offences committed were failure to register details when entering premises (151), not wearing face masks (80), entertainment outlet activities (28), not practicing social distancing (25) and others (48).

Out of the 332 individuals that were arrested, 331 individuals were compounded, while one more were remanded, he said in a statement on Saturday (May 8).

“The government has ordered the police to step up SOP compliance enforcement in states and hotspots identified under the Hotspots Identification for Dynamic Engagement (HIDE) system.

“Enforcement steps by authorities will also be stepped up on the ground,” he said.

On Ops Benteng, Ismail Sabri said 10 undocumented foreigners were arrested and one land vehicle and a ship were confiscated.

He also said 132 ships were detected at Malaysian waters during seven scouting activities.

Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said 1,069 individuals returned to Malaysia on Friday, and all of them were quarantined across quarantine centres in the country.

Cumulatively, 198,632 individuals have returned to Malaysia and they have been placed in 76 hotels, nine public training institutes and private education institutes across the country, he added.
