Israeli firm in Gaza extracts drinking water from air

An Israeli company is helping Gaza citizens with their water shortage, extracting drinking water from air!

The project by the company Watergen helps ease the shortage with a solar-powered process to extract potable water straight from the air.

The project is the brainchild of a Russian-Israeli billionaire, Michael Mirilashvili whose company developed the atmospheric water generators that can produce 5,000 to 6,000 litres (1,300 to more than 1,500 gallons) of drinking water per day, depending on the air’s humidity.

The company installed a few machines in Gaza where two million people are underserved.

Watergen, AFP says, has donated two machines at the cost of $61,000 each.
