Kashmir Doctor’s Home Razed as Delhi Red Fort Blast Probe Links to Pulwama Suspect
Delhi Red Fort blast kills 8; Kashmir doctor’s home demolished as DNA links him to terror attack.
NEW DELHI: Indian anti-terror investigators are probing a Kashmir connection to the November 12 car bomb blast near Delhi’s Red Fort that killed eight and injured dozens. Security forces demolished the Pulwama home of suspect Dr. Umar Nabi, a Kashmiri doctor employed at Al Falah University in Faridabad, on Friday.
Authorities believe Nabi drove the explosive-laden Hyundai i20 that detonated at a traffic signal, hurling bodies and igniting vehicles. DNA from the blast site matched samples from Nabi’s mother, though officials have not confirmed his death or role as the driver.

The demolition, despite no legal provision for punitive property destruction, aligns with practices in BJP-ruled states. Nabi’s family last spoke to him on Friday before the blast; his sister-in-law urged him to return home.
Home Minister Amit Shah vowed to “hunt down every culprit,” while PM Modi’s cabinet labeled the attack a “heinous terror incident” by “anti-national forces.” Investigations span Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Kashmir, with intensified raids in the valley.
J&K Police detained associates, searched 22 properties, and bound 20 individuals under preventive laws. Weeks earlier, Jaish-e-Mohammad posters appeared in Kashmir towns, raising fears of Pakistan-linked escalation.
