Louis Vuitton’s Alleged New Murakami Collection Re-hash, A “Lazy” Attempt to Regain Customers?

In the decades prior, luxury brands with the likes of Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Prada were the key innovators of the industry. However, it seems that a lot of these designer brands have gotten rather repetitive. LV in particular, has been re-hashing their popular items in hopes of reminding their customers that they’re still selling them.

Reuters reported earlier this year that LVMH, the conglomerate of said brands, has dropped by 3% in sales. Stores have allegedly been less busy than they were pre-pandemic days. Some akin this to the massive price increases and alleged quality decline by a lot of these high end houses.

Some fans have criticized the brand’s designs as “boring” and “uninspired.” However, there's been significant buzz around the alleged new collection. Reports suggest that sales associates claim some items have already sold out, even though they haven't been officially released yet.

YouTuber Jessie Style discusses the new collection in a number of her videos. While being generally excited and positive for the collection, she did address what her viewers state with regards to LV’s alleged quality. Some of them state that the canvas is now thinner, but this could’ve been done in lieu of weight constrictions.

Regardless, customers may be upset at the brand for their alleged artificial scarcity in lieu of this re-released collection.
