Malaysian hid 4 guns, 70 bullets in microwave oven, shoes

The 20-year old Malaysian man old Al Muhd Alfie Kqhyriel was caught smuggling weapons and ammunition that were concealed in a microwave oven and his shoes to avoid detection at Jinnah International Airport in Pakistan.

According to the reports, the Pakistani airport officials searched the luggage of a passenger, who was travelling to Bangkok on a private airline-342 from Jinnah International Airport Karachi. It was actually a Thai Airways flight TG342 to Bangkok, from where he was scheduled to enter Malaysia.

Four pistols, eight magazines and 70 bullets were seized from the Malaysian national.

An official with Thailand’s military intelligence unit said that the man who is believed to have links with the Islamic State (IS) militant group, had no intention to remain in Bangkok for any possible attack.

The Thai military intelligence unit official added that Malaysian security authorities had also alerted their Thai counterparts on the possibility of IS attacks in the region during the Christmas season.

As for the IS links, there are no indications whether this is accurate or not.
