Muhyiddin aiming at Elections, wooing People To back PN
With the reigning chaos in the political arena, PM Muhyiddin Yassin hinted at general elections during a town hall session today.
The PM asked the people to support his grouping, the Perikatan Nasional in the next general elections.
This is indication he is planning to call for snap polls amid growing pressure for him to resign.
Some MPs of one of the parties supporting his PN regime is willing to support Anwar Ibrahim as the new PM.
The opposition leader is putting pressure on Muhyiddin to quit saying his government has effectively collapsed.
Last Tuesday, Anwar held a presser in which he revealed he has obtained the majority of MPs in Parliament to support him.
DISSOLUTION OF PARLIAMENT?
The urgency with which the Malaysian PM spoke of elections during the town hall meeting says something is up.
Muhyddin may call for polls to escape a motion of no-confidence in Parliament and to block Anwar’s bid to overthrow him with the help of Umno MPs.
He offered the public a promise the current policies under his government will continue if the PN is voted in.
However, Malaysia is not having an election until the Parliament is dissolved. This can only happen if the Prime Minister advises the Malaysian King to dissolves the August Assembly.
“If the Perikatan government wins the next general election – don’t ask me when – there is no need for a guarantee. The policy will continue.
“My message is simple. Support us and the policy continues.
“To ensure a good policy remains, there must be leadership and a government that knows its importance,” he said on Tuesday (Sep 29) during a town hall session on the SPV 2030.
Muhyiddin was talking on the Shared Prosperity Vision introduced by the Pakatan Harapan government.
It appears he will use this policy for his election campaign.
