A Pro-Zionist ‘Alpha Male’ in a Pro-Palestine Nation – Who’s the Real Joke On?

In previous commentaries, Adams had accused Trump's political rivals of being "Islam supporters", and opposed efforts to include Islam into American school curriculum, The New York Times reported. In 2020, he tweeted that America's greatest enemies were "China and Radical Islam." Go home, Adams.

Adams the joke is coming to Malaysia. Seriously?

Nick Adams, a self-proclaimed “alpha male” influencer (LOL) with staunch pro-Zionist views, is now Trump’s nominee as ambassador to Malaysia – a country that openly supports Palestine and has hosted Hamas leaders. Adams has a history of inflammatory rhetoric against Muslims, praising Israel’s military actions while mocking leftists and “weak men” in his viral social media clips.

His nomination is baffling. Is Trump trolling Malaysia, disregarding its diplomatic sensitivities entirely? Or is this a slap in the face to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, whose government has doubled down on pro-Palestine rhetoric while maintaining crucial trade ties with Washington?

The irony is glaring: Trump picks an ambassador whose views directly contradict Malaysia’s popular and political stance, while Malaysia risks angering the US if it rejects him. Perhaps, in the end, the joke is on both Trump’s superficial diplomacy and Anwar’s tightrope walk between geopolitical realism and domestic sentiment.

“To the men and women throughout Malaysia, I can’t wait to experience your noble culture and learn much from you,” he said, is probably part of the parody by Adams.

Here's a shortlist of those who spoke against Adams appointment:

  • PKR Youth – via international relations bureau head Arief Izuadin
Rejecting due to his extremist ideologies and divisive rhetoric. PKR is the party of Anwar Ibrahim.
  • Amanah – via international bureau chairperson Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah
Rejecting due to risks of inflaming Malaysian anger and diplomatic disaster. Amanah is allied to Anwar Ibrahim.
  • Pro-Palestine organisations (unnamed collective)
Rejecting due to threat to national harmony and Malaysia’s pro-Palestine stance.
  • Malaysian Youth Council
Rejecting for similar reasons as pro-Palestine groups.
  • Khairy Jamaluddin – former minister
    Publicly objected to Adams’ nomination.
  • Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal – Machang MP
    Also voiced objection.

We can only say go home Adams.
