PETALING JAYA, Aug 28 (Bernama) — In line with the government efforts to leverage on digital skills in the age of technology, Machinery and Equipment Productivity Nexus (MEPN) is introducing PRODUCTIVITY1010 via Business Virtual Mentoring Services (BVAM).
The aim is to assist companies in developing individual digitisation roadmap. MEPN is fully supported by the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC). PRODUCTIVITY1010 is Productivity through Digitisation.
Director-General of MPC, YBhg. Dato’ Abdul Latif Haji Abu Seman said PRODUCTIVITY1010 undertake ‘Digitisation Self-Diagnostic and Prioritization Matrix’ tools to help businesses to embark on digitisation journey.
“We target to assist 1000 companies in the manufacturing sector to start the digitisation journey to improve productivity for long term competitiveness, besides this initiative also targeted to produce more than 20 industry experts to transfer knowledge and technology to the industry.
“Digitisation Self-Diagnostic Tool offers businesses to self-check their readiness in digitisation.
Upon completion of the assessment, the company can then participate in MPC Business Virtual Advisory Mentoring (BVAM) Programme which offers 10 hours virtual mentoring session with the guidance of 20 System Integrators from The Malaysia Industrial 4.0 System Integrator (MISI4.0) and Malaysia Automation Technology Association (MATA) who are certified as mentors by MPC” he says.
A group of 5 companies will be guided by their respective nominated mentors in establishing individual company digitisation roadmap through ‘Prioritisation Matrix’ tool during the mentoring programme.
“Designed as a management planning tool, the ‘Prioritisation Matrix’ encompassed 4Rs’ framework – Reality Check, ROI calculation, Review KPIs, and Reference global best practice. The goal is to assist companies in quantitatively identifying the high priority index dimensions where improvements will bring the most benefit,” he said.
Meanwhile, Champion of Machinery and Equipment Productivity Nexus (MEPN), Mr Mac Ngan Boon says they have successfully conducted nine (9) series of webinars and virtual advisory clinic or known as MEVAC which was attended by more than 1000 industry players to assist the industries to deliver proposition and to facilitate an approach to implement sustainable change.
“Among the issues and business concern raised during the MEVAC is on digitisation. Most of the companies are aware of Industry 4.0 and how digitisation can improve their business productivity and competitiveness, but they do not know how to start the digital transformation journey.
“The companies may find it challenging to prioritise their digital transformation focus areas. One of the most common mistakes is failing to factor in all necessary considerations for a holistic prioritisation, resulting in suboptimal outcomes,” he said.
In addressing this concern, MEPN with the full support of MPC will launch PRODUCTIVITY1010 which will take place on 29th August 2020.
The event also attended by YBhg. Prof. Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr Noor Azlan Ghazali, Executive Director of Economic Action Council and YBhg. Dato’ Wei Chuan Beng, Champion of Digital Productivity Nexus.
