Road users in Selangor MCO areas find traffic bearable - The Star Online

PETALING JAYA: Road users took to social media to comment on bearable traffic conditions on Thursday (May 6) morning, the first day of the movement control order in six Selangor districts.

One was Twitter user @Kenny_Kok who said that “traffic isn’t bad but still a lot of cars on the road for MCO innit.”

Similarly, @iMz_N tweeted that the “best thing about MCO, less traffic… #PKP #MCO”.

“Okay third mco sans KL and the traffic is not as crazy as it used to…. Overall I arrived to (the Pavillion) area in 20 (minutes) or so, ” tweeted @lufyc.

Another person who took to Twitter to comment was @muhdafq, who said “so less traffic on MCO morning. That’s quite good. Let’s see at the mall after work, ”

People also took to social media to share how bad traffic was on Wednesday (May 5) night.

“It took me two hours to get back to Shah Alam from KL last night. Such a disaster. Never seen traffic this heavy, ” tweeted @melatinungsari.

@syedjr wrote; “What’s wrong with Klang Valley today? Traffic jam level 9999. Bangi to Shah Alam took 2 hours. Shah Alam to KL also took 2 hours.”

Similarly, @lushlogical tweeted that they were “stuck in KL traffic jam from 4:30-6pm today, ” while @hvbibty shared how she was stuck in a traffic jam for four hours and 30 minutes from Kuala Lumpur to Shah Alam.

Six districts in Selangor – Petaling, Gombak, Hulu Langat, Klang, Sepang, and Kuala Langat – are under MCO from May 6 to May 17 and Kuala Lumpur will be under a May 7 to May 20.

All inter-district and interstate travel is prohibited during the MCO, while all economic sectors are running as usual.

This means that Malaysians can travel to their workplaces, albeit with some delay due to roadblocks – a common occurrence during previous MCOs.
