Syed Saddiq quizzed for 90 minutes over Tajuddin tweet - Free Malaysia Today

KUALA LUMPUR: Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman gave his statement to the police for one-and-a-half hours today over his tweet involving sacked Prasarana chairman Tajuddin Abdul Rahman.
The former youth and sports minister thanked the police for treating him well and said he was called in to assist in investigations over his posting that questioned Tajuddin for wearing a face shield without a mask.
“Senior minister for security Ismail Sabri Yaakob previously said it wasn’t enough to just wear a face shield, one should also wear a face mask,” he told reporters outside the Dang Wangi police station after giving his statement.
It was the second time that the MUDA founder had been summoned to give his statement in the past week. He allegedly had his phone confiscated the last time he was called up.
This time, however, he was thankful that his phone was not taken away, although he was not sure when his old phone would be returned to him.
In a Twitter post on Tuesday, he had pointed out that wearing a face shield without a face mask was a violation of SOPs and questioned whether Tajuddin would be punished for breaching Covid-19 rules.
He had included screenshots of two news reports, one with a photograph of Tajuddin and one with Ismail stating that wearing a face shield without a face mask was a punishable offence.
“We will see whether or not the government will punish the (former) Prasarana chairman. I think we all know how this will end,” he said.
Five days ago, Syed Saddiq was called to give his statement at the same police station over a 45-second video he had made on April 28 following the death of cow’s milk vendor A Ganapathy while in police custody.
