Typically, on the social media platform X, there are insensitive comments towards all races. However, it seems there has been a rise of comments against people of South Asian origins. Prior to this, anti-Semitism, anti-White, anti-Black comments are the norm. For the most part, people may seem to be joking, but others may not be.

According to DW in late 2023, Germany’s Federal Anti-Discrimination Agency (FADA) is exiting a social media platform, citing a significant surge in hate speech, particularly after Elon Musk’s acquisition.

FADA highlighted a rise in anti-trans, homophobic, racist, misogynistic, and anti-Semitic content, deeming the platform unsuitable for public entities. Commissioner Ferda Ataman suggested that state bodies reconsider their presence on what has become a “disinformation network.”

Racist comments towards South Asians

Additionally, there was a reddit post that was screen grabbed and posted on X. X users then state that South Asians can’t “live” with each other. The story goes as the older immigrants are complaining about the newer immigrants coming into Canada. But users add that foreigners can’t even live with each other.

X users are deeming South Asian individuals as “Pajeets.” Liberal westerners may start dubbing this as a slur word. However, there are liberals who appear to be anti-South Asian immigration as well.

Furthermore, X users state that they’re tired of X where White supremacists are on one end, Black supremacists are on the other. The user adds that they’re anti-racist and are saddened with comments like these rising.
