After viral warnings rippled across the internet, TikTok claims it has discovered no evidence that its users are encouraging violence in schools.

Concerns and a flurry of media alerts have surfaced in recent days, implying that TikTok users are pushing others to commit violence at schools on Friday, December 17th.

However, TikTok stated that it had discovered no proof of such provocation. Instead, it said it had only discovered videos addressing the rumour and advised people to be cautious.

It expressed concern that the widespread dissemination of reports on the alleged trend could “inspire real-world violence.”

As a result, it said that it will remove “alarmist warnings” about potential violence from TikTok as soon as they were submitted.
