Liberals Calling The Rise of Right Wing Gay Men “Dangerous”

There appears to be a split among the LGBTQ members. Generally, members of said community would most likely be on the left side of the spectrum. However, there has been a rise in the right side of the spectrum where some gay individuals feel that the LGBTQ+ community is no longer representing their needs. 

Vox States, LGBTQ voters aligning with the Democratic Party was not always certain. In the 1950s, when homosexual Americans began organizing, it wasn't clear which party they would align with. Both parties supported the Lavender Scare from the 1940s to the 1960s, driving homosexual people from federal jobs.

A survey states that only 50% of the LGBTQ members are supportive of the Democrats, and about 15% are Republicans. That would leave out 35% of the community not supporting any political parties. 

Rise of right wing gay men 

Additionally, some state that they are not liberal because they do not like Taylor Swift. Others add that the Democrats are discriminatory as they would only approve of a certain type of homosexual people. Typically, the accepted types are the ones who are woke. 

Others asked for clarification on what is actually right wing. Users add that nowadays, individuals who are not “woke” are automatically right wing. For the most part, it appears that “conservatives” are mostly centrists rather than far right supporters.

Previously, conservative White Americans were bringing up a similar point when it comes to affirmative action where Asians are not even prioritized to receive the benefits of a person of color.
