5 LIONS CLUBS TO MAKE CHRISTMAS WISHES OF THE NEEDY COME TRUE

KUALA LUMPUR, December: 5 Lions Clubs in Selangor are encouraging the public to come forth and bring the joy of Christmas to those in need, particularly orphans, physically disabled individuals and the elderly in old folks homes this festive season. This community service project aims at providing gift bags to the needy and also grant them their Christmas wish list too.

This #1Wish1Smile campaign Organizing Chairperson, Marcus Yap, who is also the Zone 24 Chairperson of Lions Clubs International (LCI) District 308 B2, said, “A project like this may only give them a little Christmas present, but to them, it would mean a whole new world of hope and caring. Project Advisor, LCI District 308 B2 1st Vice District Governor, Loy Kwee Keow said, “Lions Clubs around the world have been providing support and assistance to needy groups for more than a century. We have 1.4 million members in the world and in Malaysia alone, we have not less than 11,000 members who focus on humanitarian services like childhood cancer, vision, environment and diabetes awareness; children and elderly care, hunger relief and other community services to make our community a better place.” He added that extra support and care are needed for these vulnerable groups especially during these trying times. “Let us all come together to grant them the Christmas wish”.
