Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott Directing Covid Relief Funds to “Non-White” Organisations

The topic of Diversity Equity and Inclusivity has been an unpopular subject among Americans. Conservatives are vehemently against this idea, while liberals are supporting it. Mayor Brandon Scott recently made a controversial announcement regarding the city’s Covid relief funds. 

The National Desk states, Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott expressed dismay Tuesday over the disproportionate allocation of public funds to predominantly White-led arts organizations. His comments came during the unveiling of a $3.6 million "Diversity in Arts" grant, aimed at rectifying such disparities using COVID-19 relief funds. 

Acknowledging a history of favoritism towards established, often White-run institutions, Scott emphasized the need for inclusivity. The grant includes recipients like The National Great Blacks In Wax Museum and the Reginald F. Lewis Museum. 

Scott thanked President Biden and Maryland's congressional delegation for securing federal support. The move aims to amplify underrepresented voices and bolster Baltimore's vibrant arts scene amid a closely contested Democratic primary race.

Conservatives on X claim that he is discriminating against White Americans. They claim that this is illegal as it is against equal treatment against the American people. There are bold claims citing that the Department of Justice is not caring about a segment of the American population. 

Furthermore, conservative Americans claim that the Democrats are discriminatory towards groups that do not align with them. This is a bold accusation, but it is what conservatives are feeling currently. It is unfortunate that the divide between the American people are getting bigger.
