Covid-19: Malaysia hits new high with 221706 vaccine jabs administered nationwide - The Star Online

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia’s Covid-19 vaccination rate reached another high on Thursday (June 17) as 221,706 jabs were administered throughout the country.

According to the Special Committee on Ensuring Access to Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV), 177,876 people received their first dose while 43,830 people received their second dose.

Altogether 5,330,654 vaccine doses have been administered since the start of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.

Of the total 3,810,071 were first doses while 1,520,583 were for the second dose.

Selangor has recorded the highest number of vaccinations with 195,315 individuals having received two doses of their vaccines, followed by Sarawak (1272,644), Johor (149,227), Perak (140,885) and Kuala Lumpur (137,078).

National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin had previously said that they were targeting to vaccinate more than 200,000 individuals per day in July, and over 300,000 individuals daily from August.
