International Outcry Against Israeli Aggression in Palestine

In a recent meeting convened by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the OIC member states gathered to express their strong condemnation of the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.

The meeting, initiated by Saudi Arabia, underscored the urgent need for international intervention to halt the violence and support the Palestinians in their legitimate struggle for self-determination.

A focal point of the gathering was the unequivocal condemnation of the horrific massacre committed by the Israeli occupation through the bombing of the National Baptist Hospital in the Gaza Strip. This act of violence resulted in the tragic deaths of hundreds of Palestinians and the injury of numerous innocent civilians.

Israeli Aggression - War Crime

The participants regarded this as a war crime, a violation of human values, and a form of organized state terrorism that demands accountability and punishment.

The international community, represented by these member states, expressed their unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people and their legitimate struggle to achieve the right to self-determination and establish an independent, sovereign state. The meeting emphasized the urgency of collective efforts to halt the unprecedented Israeli aggression and ensure the opening of humanitarian corridors to facilitate the delivery of essential supplies, medicines, and food to the Gaza Strip.

The meeting also served as a platform for reiterating concerns about the consequences of the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people. It was highlighted that this aggression has resulted in the killing and injuring of thousands of Palestinians and the indiscriminate destruction of crucial infrastructure, including residential areas, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and media outlets. Even UNRWA facilities have not been spared from the destruction.

Israeli Impunity

The participants emphasized the dangers of allowing the continuation of aggression against the Palestinian people, which has been ongoing due to the absence of effective international legal and political deterrence. This aggression has been facilitated by Israel's perceived impunity and evasion of accountability and punishment for its policies, including colonial settlement, forced displacement, ethnic cleansing, murder, organized terrorism, and attacks on holy sites.

The meeting reiterated the call on the international community to compel Israel, as the occupying power, to adhere to international law, international humanitarian law, and relevant United Nations resolutions. The goal is to promote security and stability, rather than perpetuating the cycle of violence and hatred that has plagued the region for far too long.

The meeting serves as a reminder that the international community must act swiftly to protect the rights and dignity of the Palestinian people and work toward a just and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
