DAP Secretary‑General Anthony Loke has warned Pakatan Harapan (PH) against cooperating with Bersatu or PAS, citing past betrayals. “We must not be bitten by the same snake twice,” he said, recalling Bersatu’s 2020 defection that toppled PH after Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad resigned as Prime Minister. Loke stressed that PH has “no intention” of working with either party, despite rumours that Bersatu might defect from Perikatan Nasional (PN) following PAS’s review of its ties with the party.

Anwar and Pandan

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has taken over the Pandan seat after Rafizi Ramli’s exit, setting up a potential electoral clash. Rafizi has vowed to defend his seat, raising the prospect of an Anwar versus Rafizi showdown. To strengthen his position, Anwar appointed Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz as his representative in Pandan, with Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari confirming Zafrul’s role. Amirudin said Zafrul would also monitor Ampang, noting PKR had faced similar challenges when Azmin Ali and Zuraida Kamaruddin left the party.

With Bersama gaining momentum from PKR defections, the Pandan constituency is shaping up as a key battleground that could define PKR’s future and Anwar’s leadership.
