Leaked Survey Shows Decline in Anwar’s Malay Support

A leaked Merdeka Center survey reveals Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s declining support among Malay voters, placing him fourth with 45 per cent approval. His deputy, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, ranked lowest with 31 per cent support and the highest dissatisfaction at 60 per cent.

Khairy Jamaluddin topped the list with 62 per cent, followed by Muhyiddin Yassin (49 per cent) and PAS’s Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar (48 per cent). Dissatisfaction with Anwar rose sharply to 51 per cent, compared to 36 per cent last year, marking a 10 per cent drop in support.

However, Anwar remains strong among non‑Malay voters, securing 59 per cent satisfaction. The survey highlights contrasting voter sentiments across communities ahead of Malaysia’s political contests.
