PAS criticises Bersatu. The end is near?
This could be the final blow to Bersatu in its role within the Perikatan Nasional
PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has strongly criticized Bersatu for actions he said weakened Perikatan Nasional (PN) and disrupted opposition‑led state administrations.
He cited Bersatu’s withdrawal of support in Perlis, retraction of statutory declarations in Negeri Sembilan, and disciplinary moves against leaders in Kelantan and Kedah as examples that strained coalition ties.
Warning that such decisions disappointed the public and risked fracturing PN ahead of GE16, he urged Bersatu to avoid escalating disciplinary actions and instead focus on building allies.
Bersatu and PAS
His remarks followed PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang’s statement that the party is reassessing cooperation with Bersatu and may contest alone if no agreement is reached.
Bersatu responded by stressing that PN issues must be reviewed comprehensively with comradeship and shared responsibility, promising to discuss concerns in upcoming political bureau and supreme council meetings to strengthen coalition unity.
