The Dior scandal has led many YouTubers to speculate about the brand’s ethics. Now, the information is not entirely confirmed whether the brand is outsourcing their manufacturing to “sketchy” workshops. But, some users may find it to be something that is plausible.

According to Forbes, although Dior wasn’t criminally liable, it neglected to verify working conditions and technical capabilities of contractors. The investigation revealed systemic unethical practices in Italy, where foreign-owned manufacturers supply luxury brands with “Made in Italy” goods produced at “Made in China” prices.

Industry leaders must address these issues to avoid business models based on human rights violations.

A popular luxury YouTuber, Sophie Shohet states that she was afraid to talk about the Dior scandal. She adds that she almost took down her video discussing it, despite the backlash she may receive from these brands or the people who are working with these brands.

The comments on her video add that these companies should “stop” bullying content creators or people who are speaking out against these issues. Furthermore, others add that if this alleged scandal is true, what is the point of paying thousands for a designer bag?

But, this is a mere claim from social media users as it is unsure if these items are made in the same factories.
